Alabama football probation?
I’m a small late I know but I learned today that Alabama has been on probation since 2007 and will continue until 2012. And since we beat Texas at the Rose Bowl in 2009 we were the National Champions, right? But under probation it wouldn’t count so why would NCAA count it or did we get off probation or did the probation have nothing to do with the NC.
I am a huge Bama fan and one of my teachers who is a huge Auburn fan started making fun of Alabama and he pulled this out.
So what happened with the probation and please no rants on how it shouldn’t count towards our NCs.

They haven’t been on probation since 2007, the violations happened in 2007 and they were over athletes recieving free textbooks in violations of NCAA rules. There were over 200 athletes from 16 sports involved. The reason Alabama didn’t recieve harsher penalties over it is because they self reported it and cooperated with the NCAA. The probation started in 2009 and ends in 2012. Alabama lost no football scholarships but they had to vacate some victories between 2005 and 2007. In case you were wondering there were 7 football players involved.
They weren’t under sanctions. That is what it would take to ban you from post-season play. Probation is just that, probation. It means you can’t get in any more distress during the period of time. But, you aren’t under sanctions, like USC is currently
I am an Ohio State fan, and couldn’t care less about Auburn or Alabama. Tell your teacher that people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Point blank question him, “How many times has Auburn been on probation?” Watch him squirm. Also, if you really want to dig him, question him how long he thinks Auburn will keep that last national title before they have to vacate wins.
