biking question bmx parts?

I bought a groundbreaking new Fit eddie 1 bmx bike 2011 model after riding it for 1 day the tire lost all its air and at a closer inspection the inner tube has an tear about an inch or two long but the tire has no slashes i am guessing i might have ran over a thorn but I don’t know how there is a 2 inch long tear on the inner tube
Can the bike rims really cut the inner tube like that or could my inner tube have been defective is there anything i can do to prove it was defective or should i just not bother and get a new inner tube
I had a raleigh mountain bike and i have had many flat tires do to thorns but never had a long cut in the inner tube.
I also had to carry my bike home (the front tire got flattened) so i held it vertically and rolled it on the back tire but irregularly i had to place it down because my arm was getting tired i am not to worried about the rim because i place it down gently and i inspected the rim there are not to many scratches and the rim feels smooth for the most part but i am worried i may have stretched out the fit 2.5 tire is this possible.

Sure, 25,000 square feet, and 32 rooms may be a bit extra space for just one person, but I’m sure I’d get use to it very quickly. I’d despise to reckon of that house being demolished because no one bought it. Thank goodness for the Mega Millions and Power Ball. Ya Never Know.
