Most people choose to steer clear of the R&S section NOT because they don’t feel strongly about their faith, but because the people who post there are by-and-far very immature about their faith and can’t handle the fact that people disagree with them–starting all kinds of nasty arguments (if you don’t believe me, see for yourself). The people who would rather not get involved in the petty fights that posts like this can start (myself included) reckon of the other categories as a “safe haven” and we don’t want to see those kinds of arguments and nasty rants popping up here, too. This is why so many people got crabby about you posting this here in B&A.

I used to answer in the R&S section in hopes of doing what you are doing now, but I had to accept that knowing the truth doesn’t make it my mission to “convert the masses.” Most of the people in the R&S section–even most of the people who say they are Christians–are very confused about our faith and often bash other peoples’ just to feel more secure about their own.

May I offer a bit of advice for you? If you are really interested in being a witness to our faith, pursue other venues (outside of Yahoo). Most of the people who comment in R&S are more concerned with being trolls, starting despise-speeches, ranting, and “proving everyone else incorrect.” What you are doing is estimable, but realize that even though Jesus called us to go forth and make disciples, WE DON’T have the power to “convert” people. We can witness to the Truth of Christ and the salvation that we can find in Him, but ONLY God has the power to really change hearts. When a person hears the truth, he/she can accept it or reject it–but throwing the truth at them over and over isn’t going to make his/her mind for him/her. That’s just what comes with God’s gift of free will–believing in Him is a choice that people need to make for themselves.

With that said, I hope that God uses you to be a powerful witness, but please make sure that you look for places to share the news OTHER than where it has been rejected. Jesus even said to the disciples that if a town (and therefore people) refuses to listen to you, turn and shake the dust from your feat and leave. Rejection is just a sign that God hasn’t prepared that person’s heart yet. Don’t feel terrible about it–just bring the Truth with you elsewhere. God can still use you outside the realm of Yahoo. Besides, when sharing the message with someone it’s best to do so in person. People who don’t know our faith can misunderstand what you’ve posted as “cramming religion down their throats.” From my own personal experience, it helps to get to know a person and be a friend to them before you just show up and start witnessing.
