Season 4, episode 4 of Extreme Makeover Home Edition Bliven Family Audio: English Subtitles: Spanish The Bliven family of Minot, North Dakota were told “Life’s not honest” by their doctor upon learning their second child, Aaron, had cerebral palsy. The Blivens, who also have another son and daughter, treat Aaron like a “normal” kid. Aaron and his younger brother even played on the same Small League team. That is, until the recreation league chose Aaron’s health was too much of a risk for the fantastic American pastime. But instead of benching her young son, Michelle started a league of their own. “Dream Catchers” is a Small League team made up entirely of children with special needs. Michelle received the “Hometown Hero” Award for her tireless efforts in making an background in which EVERY child is special. Unfortunately, the family’s modest house, bought nearly 20 years ago, is no longer a safe haven for their growing son. At 14 Aaron has outgrown his small wheelchair, but his new chair is too large and can’t fit through the hallways and some doorways; he must be carried from room to room. After suffering two heart attacks last year, Bill is physically unable to life his son now, which leaves the entire weight on Michelle’s shoulders – and back, legs, arms. The bathroom is also too small to accommodate Aaron, so he must get dressed and be attended to in the living room, which includes changing his feeding tube and his underwear. Life has given the Blivens lemons, and

extreme makeover home edition applying?

my sister is nearly 16 and has brain cancer. it is me my mom and my sister living in the house and all of our bedrooms are small. we have steep stairs and my sister fell going up the stairs and i don’t want her to get hurt. our house is 2 floors but is small and there isn’t really much room to go around in and since she cant really go out cause of her having brain cancer there isn’t that much room for her to have some friends over. and our carpets are ancient and have some stains on them and some shingles on our roof are falling off. and my sister really deserves and my mom to have a nice house. my sister has such a positive attitude about her having cancer and my mom does everything to help her and my brother went in with my grandparents just so me and her could have separate rooms and we want to have him go back him.
we cant afford to fix up he house cause of my sisters medical bills and my parents are divorce.
should i apply for extreme makeover home edition?
do you reckon they would pick my family?

Best answers:

Really, I’m not sure you as a recipient of services, can even apply, you will probaby need someone else to apply and plead your case, so to speak. If everyone who has problems in their family and with their homes could apply, the folks who do this stuff would be so swamped with paperwork they’d never have time to do anything else. Something else to reckon about, who’s going to pay the increased taxes generated by the increase in value of the new renovation, as well as the new mortgage. They don’t do this for free.

Would Extreme Makeover Home Edition Consider Us?

Ok, so I am 14 and have had lyme disease for 4 years and have it pretty terrible. I always have horrible headaches and my throat always feels like I’ve swallowed a lit torch, sometimes my joint pain gets so terrible that I need a wheel chair and I have terrible stomach pain. I have been unable to go to school in a year because of everything and I really like school and miss being able to hang out with my friends. But, a couple of weeks ago we went back to Chicago for a couple weeks and I felt fantastic, my head pain was nearly gone, my throat pain was completely gone as well as my stomach pain. Then, the second we came back to Colorado all of my pain got horrible again and after talking to my lyme doctor I found out that it’s because of the lack of oxygen at such a high altitude and the dryness and just everything about this state is hurting me. So my parents were thinking about sending me out to Chicago to live with my grandma and if my dad is able to he will join me but you see, my mom owns her own buisness so if we were able to scrape up enough money to pay rent on an appartment my mom would still have to stay in Colorado at our house to make money so we could have any hope of paying the rent, we can’t sell our house because of the market but even if we could sell it we would lose money on it and it would hurt us more than it would help us. So, I really want to feel better, and to do so I can’t live in Colorado, but I don’t want to not have my parents with me, I mean I like my grandma but she’s not my mom and dad, plus her condo is really small and smells like her cat. So now, here is my question, do you know if extreme makeover home edition would consider us so I could have my whole family together, so I don’t have to go to Chicago and just talk to my parents on the phone, or do you know of any shows that could help us to get a new home in Chicago so we could all live together.

Oh also, I did lots of work for the community when I was able and I was always one of the top students in my class back when I was able to go to school. One more thing, on the attention it questions what the problems with my current house are and well there aren’t any so what should I place there, just that it’s in colorado, and it questions for my home address, so should I place down my grandmas (I’d be living there before I turned the app. in). Oh also it questions how much we make each year but my mom owns her own buisness so some years we make like a lot and sometimes we don’t.

Thnx

Oh and I know I’ve questioned this before but I had to add a few things to the question

Thnx again

Best answers:

Probably not. It does sound like a terrible situation that can be remedied by moving. It seems more like you’ll just be asking for them to build you a house when your family is capable of doing it yourself. It sucks to have to lose money on the house but it’s not like you have cancer and are confined to your bed. Hey it wouldn’t hurt to try. Place down both addresses and make it clear which one you’ll be at. It sounds like your family can do everything on their own.
