I have a question regarding zone valves used on a 40 year ancient sears gas water boiler. It has 2 hydronic zone valves, part number 1361-104 (white rodgers). Normally they only last for about 5-7 years before the botom starts to rust a small, and they start to leak. Are there higher quality zone valves that could replace the ones that I am currently using?

How much to fix a power searing fluid leak?

91 toyota corolla, just found a leak on what I believe is the power searing fluid pump. How much to fix?

loosen the nut that secures the tightening adjustment and slide to where the belt is loose. place a container underneath pump to catch the fluid and undo the power steering hoses. there should be 2-3 screws to take loose from the bracket and block mount. then remove it and mount the new one doing just the opposite of what you did to take it loose. simple-right?
The problem could be the seal in the pump or the hose, either way, a bottle of Lucas power steering additive (about 10 bucks) will slow the leak and in most cases stop it.
I have used this successfully 4 different times. Two were pump seal leaks and the other two were leaking at the gear box.

lol elmer really didn’t answer your question. well it depends if a bolt or screw is loose or if the pump has a crack in it. but a new pump and labor will probably run $ 75 to $ 125 depending on where you go.

Is Sears roofing trying to hustle me?

I don’t know much about roofing, but my uncle said I would be able to re-roof just one side of my house. I only need one side re-roofed because I had an ancient tree that hurt the shingles on that side (the tree is gone now). The Sears roofing contractor told me I would have to do the entire roof as there would be leaking at the junction where the two roof halves meet if he only did one side and not the other.

Does that sound right?

Incorrect! Call a local contractor.
You need to get three estimates for the job and see what others have to say. Never rely on just one estimate or opinion.
your roofer is a butt head,i have done alot of roofs and if he cant keep it from leaking at the ridge he is an idiot,,he JUST wants a larger job=more $ $ in his pocket
If you are going over the roof on one side there might be issues with the differences in height, but they should be able to solve that with flashing and other design solutions. If you are taking it off, then it shouldn’t be a problem. I would get a few more estimates.

    The Sears contractor is bogus. Partial roof substitution is done 100% of the time to repair the hurts you describe. If a leak develops, the contractor did a poor job.
