Two questions about Terminator Salvation?

Two questions about Terminator Salvation?

I watched Terminator 1, 2, and 3. 1 and 2 are a bit fuzzy to me since I saw them a while back.

1) So, basically, Kyle Reese is John Connor’s father, who went back in time to warn Sarah Connor, who is John’s mother. Is this right?

2) Did they skip a scene in the beginning of the movie? First, you see John entering this tunnel with human experiments. Then, suddenly, the next scene is him alone crawling out of the tunnel. What the hell happened in between? Did the directors just not show the robots killing everyone else?

Being a Terminator fan, I really was not satisfied with this movie. Not only did it have plotholes but it was really confusing as well. =[

I reckon that if you had watched the first 3 before going for the 4th, you wud have understood and loved the movie better….

You are right about the first assumption. Also, kyle Reese knows that he’s going to make like with sarah and beget John.

The second point, well there was an explosion that brought John’s helicopter down, thats the one that killed everyone still inside the tunnel

1. Yes.

2. Pretty much.

It was a crappy film, I agree. Made no sense.

1) Kyle Reese goes back in time and impregnates John Connor’s mother making John Connor – you following?

2.) It might have been a jump-cut, if so – to answer your question, the scene was probably NOT. It was just supposed to establish the experiments, Connor’s reaction, and his departure from the discovery.

There were a lot of unexplained areas in the film, but it wasn’t all that terrible either.

1. Yes, Kyle is John’s father. Terminator Salvation takes place I believe 10 years before Kyle is sent back in time (Terminator 1).

2. While John is in the labs with the human experiments, the commander tells him to go topside because the men are not responding on the radio “Get topside and tell those men to respond, even if they’re dead.” I believe was the line. The next shot is John crawling out of the hole and finding the soldier there dead. Yes, the film didn’t show the robots killing the soldiers up top. John crawls out just in time to see the transport leaving (like the one that takes prisoners at the 7-11 scene).

Basically, that entire sequence was a set-up by Skynet. Allow the humans to infiltrate the base (remember someone remarks about how there were no robots there as they went inside), upload the computers to the resistance command (giving the resistance the fake shutdown code), then eliminate the soldiers (small nuclear bomb in the base, terminators outside) so there would be no survivors to talk about the experiments in detail (John comments on how things aren’t like what he expected). Skynet didn’t count on John surviving (pure luck that he got topside, saw the transport and gave chase before the bomb went off. Plus, remaining terminator didn’t kill him either).

Hope that helps. While I agree the movie wasn’t as excellent as it could have been, I’m not completely miserable with it. MCG did an okay job, but I reckon a different director could have handled it a bit better.

In the movie terminator salvation ?

One simple detail i reckon the writer left out
How could John conner exist in the Future prior to sending his father kyle reese back it get his mother pregnant
if you reckon about it even in part one how could he exist in the future to send his father back before his father and mother had him
that should make him non exsistant

Time lines bend and as one event changes all others the impossible becomes probable as the possible becomes something else.

What you should be wondering is how Skynet knew who Kyle Reese was when no mention of who was sent back would carry with it any mention of why Kyle is noteworthy to the grand scheme of things. People go back in time. They do not return. How did Skynet know to look for Kyle?

I truly despise terrible writing.

Anyway, kyle goes back in time, changing the time line so that John has to send Kyle back in time or else John does not exist but more importantly, if there is no John Connor then there is no Skynet so Kyle must survive so John can be born so that Skynet ends up in the hands of the military and not the private sector of Cyberdyne allowing Skynet to take over the world rather than simply become some microchip in devices here and there. The point of this movie is to bring Kyle and John together to assure Kyle survives for 11 more years, plus this makes John the leader of the resistance by eliminating his rivals. Skynet needs John to succeed or else they will never reach consciousness. Now, you know why time machines were set up to transport men and not machines. Men will only trust men and not machines. Kyle can be trusted. Arnold cannot, at least not at first.

Anyway, the answer you are seeking is because no one person can be in to places at the same time but no one person in this tale is in the same place at the same time.
