When does the 2011-2012 NBA season start?

When does the 2011-2012 NBA season start?

the exact time and date please! I reckon its november 1st not sure which is why im asking

Best answers:

i hope not this year
It starts when the lockout ends.
It won’t be November the 1st because David Stern cancelled the first 2 weeks of the season. And the season was suppose 2 start on that date. I believe it will start around December 1st.
The first cancellations canceled the season until Christmas Day. If no deal is made by this week i reckon…no 1st game until like early 2012. If it continues and no deal until like half the season or more is over, there will be no NBA season.

When does the 2011-2012 basketball season start?

Does anyone know what date the NBA basketball season starts and also when the play offs start?
If you can’t give me an actual date (or it hasn’t been announced yet) Can you tell me the basic time? Octoberish for games and Marchish for playoffs or something?

Thanks!

In the Fall.
The NBA Lockout will start this week, so The Season will start when The NBA Owners and The NBA Players agree on a New Collective Bargaining Agreement. From what I heard on Sportscenter yesterday, 22 out of the 30 teams lost money last year. The Owners are spending too much money and they are going to reduce players salaries by $ 700,000,000 a year. I’ll know when The Season Starts when I see and hear an announcement from Commisioner David Stern.
Next year because of the lockout.

When is the next Lockout for NBA/NHL/NFL/MLB?

According to my calculations the CBA expires for the 4 leagues as follows:

1. NFL CBA expires for 2011-2012 season.
2. MLB CBA expires for 2012 season.
3. NBA CBA expires for 2011-2012 season.
4. NHL CBA expires for 2012-2013 season.

Looks like there will be at least 1 labor dispute. Are my 4 dates right or incorrect??
Terry V,

Thanks for your quick response. I’m thinking the nhl IS THE MOST VULNERABLE BECAUSE IT IT THE LEAST FINANCIALLy successful. All the NFL teams make money. Only the Detroit Lions lost money (and only about 2 million last year.)

In baseball, even the Pittsburgh Pirates make money.

But in hockey and basketball, a lot of teams lose money.

But we’ll see.

I’m more concerned with the accuracy of my dates with my question but than say the exact probability of a strike or lockout.

Best answers:

If it is any of em i would predict the NFL
NFL will lockout for about 6 regular season weeks

MLB will renew in plenty of time

NBA will lockout for about half of the preseason

NHL will renew and resurge thanks to the two lockouts
